Full Review

The Munchkin Secure Grip is the changing pad equivalent of a
reliable sedan: not exciting, not Instagram-worthy, but exactly right
for the job. The contoured design creates raised walls on three sides,
which keeps Owen from rolling off during his increasingly acrobatic
diaper change protests. The non-slip bottom has never budged on our
dresser — not once in hundreds of changes.

The included waterproof cover is soft enough that Owen doesn’t
flinch from cold contact (a real issue with some pads), and it
unzips for machine washing when wipe-downs aren’t enough. The foam
is firm but comfortable — you don’t want too much cushion
because baby needs a stable surface.

The limitations are inherent to the category: it lives on a dresser
and doesn’t travel. It’s a single-purpose product. But that single
purpose — safe, comfortable, easy-to-clean diaper changes at
home — is something you’ll use 8-12 times a day for two-plus
years. At this price, it’s one of the highest-value purchases in the
entire nursery.
