Hey, I'm Drew.

I'm 32, I work in IT project management, and I'm the kind of person who researches everything before buying it. Baby monitor? Evaluated like enterprise security software. Stroller? Six weeks of comparison. First year budget? Built a Notion tracker.

I was ready.

Owen arrived 14 months ago and immediately made it clear that preparation is a suggestion, not a guarantee.

Why This Blog Exists

I started this blog because the parenting content I found fell into three buckets:

I wanted something honest. Something from a regular guy who loves his kid fiercely, worries constantly, and is just trying to make slightly better decisions than yesterday.

So that’s what this is. No perfect answers. No sponsored gear I don’t actually use. Just one dad writing down what’s actually happening — the stuff that worked, the stuff that flopped, and how much it all cost.

What You’ll Find Here

The Quick Version

I’m a project manager by day, which means I’m wired to plan, track, and optimize. Being a dad has taught me that some things can’t be project-managed — and that’s been the hardest and best lesson of my life.

The Notion tracker is still open. The baby monitor works great. The stroller has a wheel that wobbles and I’ve chosen to accept this.

If you’re a dad (or about to be one) who wants honest takes instead of polished advice, you’re in the right place. Pull up a chair. Coffee’s on.

No spam. Just honest dad stuff.
